What is our offer
One of the most critical points before launching your external communications strategy is to know and understand what your offer is – what it is that you provide for your stakeholders (target audiences). How do beneficiaries take advantage of your service or product, training program, tool, advice, or information? Why would they choose us and stick with our youth organization (YO)? How do we integrate the beneficiaries into becoming a part of our community?
Knowing your offer inside and out is foundational to effectively running, promoting, and growing your YO and its communication efforts. This knowledge supports higher stakeholders’ engagement, informed decision-making, and sustained organizational advantage. It represents a much-needed basis for our external communications strategy.

A communication plan provides information, guidance and governance!
Questions to consider:
Which people/groups/teams do you want to communicate with?
What do you want to communicate and why?
How frequently do you plan to do so?
What format/channels are best suited for establishing effective communication?
Joint review with stakeholders to ensure good governance and oversight!
Do’s & Don’ts:

time!)
- DO prepare a communication package at an early stage that covers
stakeholders’ needs and make commitment to publish the package
regularly (the package refers to the chosen material and channels)
